The Scarsdale Hundred

In the Domesday Book, from 1086, it was one of the 71 places recorded in the Scarsdale Hundred.

Situated on the west side of Beighton, this centuries-old village is now one of the city of Sheffield’s 28 electoral wards. For hundreds of years, Beighton had historically been in Derbyshire, in the administrative area known as the Hundred of Scarsdale. In the Domesday Book, from 1086, it was one of the 71 places recorded in the Scarsdale Hundred.
