The Quay

These premises had been the home of Coast Lines Ltd.

21 The Quay, Poole, Dorset, BH15 1HJ

The Quay was the name of the existing pub taken over by Wetherspoon which had occupied this former warehouse since c1996. In Tudor times, the Quayside was called the Great Quay, even though it was under 200 feet long! The Little Quay was added and further extended in the late 18th century. This was the New Quay, where this pub, the warehouses and wharves were built.

Prints and text about The Quay.

The text reads: The grade II listed, five storey building was built as a warehouse in the early mid nineteenth century. Prior to its development for leisure use around 1980, these imposing premises had been the long-time home of the shipping agents Coast Lines Ltd.
