Pub history

This popular holiday venue is situated immediately south of Cleethorpes, in the civil parish of Humberston, at the heart of which (five minutes’ drive from here) is the centuries-old village of Humberston. The village takes its name from The Humber Stone, a large boulder deposited here during the last Ice Age. The final ‘e’ was later dropped from the village’s name. The ancient boulder in front of the village library, near St Peter’s Church, is thought to be the original stone.
