The Red Rocks
The striking red cliffs below this holiday park are part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, itself beginning nearby at Orcombe Point. The section from there to just after Sandy Bay is known as The Red Coast, from the colour of its rocks, formed in the Triassic period, 200–250 million years ago, when the first dinosaurs appeared. All year round, the red rocks attract visitors to the area from far and wide.
