FAQs

Find answers to the most common questions about Wetherspoon hotels.

Where are your hotels located?

We have hotels in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. All hotels have adjoining pubs and their own unique character. The rooms come in a range of sizes, including some family rooms. All rooms have unlimited free Wi-Fi, an en suite bathroom, TV and tea- and coffee-making facilities. For more information about locations and to book a room, view our hotels.

How can I book a hotel room?

To search for a hotel, click here. Select a hotel, check availability and book online, on the hotel’s page. If you wish to book more than five rooms or have any special requirements (eg you require a cot for an infant or have accessibility needs), contact the hotel team directly. You must be at least 18 years old to make a reservation.

Our best rates* are available by booking direct.

*Non-refundable advance purchase rates, available to book direct via telephone, this website and our app.

Which payment methods do you accept?

You will need to provide your credit or debit card details to secure your reservation – and we accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

We do not accept cash (including foreign currency), cheques, vouchers or Wetherspoon gift cards to pay for hotel accommodation.

If you have not paid in full for your room (plus any extras added to your booking) at the time you make your reservation, you will need to pay in full on arrival.

How can I cancel a hotel booking which I have already made?

If you have booked and paid in advance to stay with us and would like a refund or to reschedule your stay, you can complete a contact form here – and we will contact you within 14 days of the receipt of your request. If you have booked via booking.com, you can cancel via its online portal.

Some reservation types can be cancelled without charge before 2pm on the day before arrival (eg by 2pm on Thursday for a stay which commences on Friday). Other rates are fixed and non-refundable.

What facilities are provided for those customers with accessibility needs?

Some hotels have lifts and specially adapted rooms, allowing easier access.

If you have difficulty walking, yet do not need a specially adapted room, then, for easy access, you can request a room near reception or on the ground floor.

How old do I have to be to stay in a room?

You must be at least 18 years old to make a reservation.

Any customers aged under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult (aged over 18 years), staying in the same room. We may request photo identification (such as a passport or driving licence) as proof of age; if a guest is unable to present ID to the satisfaction of the hotel, we may terminate your booking without refund.

Why have I been asked to provide ID when I check in?

For the safety and security of all of our guests and employees and/or to confirm age, we may ask guests who are checking in to provide photo identification (such as a passport or driving licence).

Non-UK passport-holders must show their passport details and their next destination.

What time can I check in?

You can check in any time from 2pm on the day of arrival.

Where do I check in?

Some hotels have a dedicated reception; in others, you check in at the bar.

Where do I park?

Most of our hotels do not have on-site parking.

For details of the nearest public parking and local transport, check the hotel’s page on this site or contact the hotel directly.

Where public parking is available, some spaces are designated for the sole use of Blue Badge-holders.

Do the hotel rooms have free Wi-Fi?

All of our hotels offer unlimited free Wi-Fi, with The Cloud.

To access this, select ‘Wi-Fi – The Cloud’ from the available network list on your device and follow the instructions. For troubleshooting, please click here

Can I bring my pet?

With the exception of assistance dogs, we don’t allow any animals to stay in our hotels.

What time is food available?

Breakfast only is served in the pub until 12noon, followed by the main menu from 11.30am until (usually) 11pm. Timings may vary. For exact food-service times, speak directly to a team member of the pub you wish to visit.

There is no need to make a booking.

You can order at the bar or at your table, using the Wetherspoon app or the menu’s QR code. Payment is made at the time of ordering.

What time is check-out?

You are required to vacate your room by 11am on the day of departure.

Subject to availability, a later check-out time (noon) may be arranged, in advance, for an additional charge.

Can I smoke in my room?

Smoking is not permitted (including e-cigarettes and vaporisers) in any part of the hotel or pub.

Smoking in a hotel room will result in a minimum £100 charge (€100 in Ireland) to cover those extra cleaning costs required to return the room to a smoke-free condition – for the comfort of all of our guests.

Can I charge my scooter in my room?

Customers are not permitted to charge scooters, e-bikes or mobility scooters in a hotel room.
