Which charity do you support?
For the last 15 years, our nominated charity has been CLIC Sargent, which supports young people and children with cancer, and their families. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of our employees and customers, we have already raised over £14 million for the charity.
The funds have been raised through a variety of activities, including KICK for CLIC Sargent (a staff five-a-side football tournament), pub quizzes, themed events, variety nights and the annual Darts for CLIC Sargent staff tournament (with over 564 teams from 465 J D Wetherspoon pubs around the UK).
The partnership was launched in 2002 and has continued to grow, year on year. Having celebrated our £12-million milestone in April 2016, we were thrilled to hit the £14-million mark just over a year later! We are excited to see what more we can do together to help young lives against cancer.
Can you support my charity?
We receive a large number of requests for donations and sponsorship for very worthy causes. Although we would like to help them all, we are unable to.
Our nominated charity is CLIC Sargent
(caring for children with leukemia and cancer) – and we commit all of our fundraising and efforts to that charity.
Some pubs also support a local charity – please contact the pub team directly, if you would like to be considered. Direct collections from customers are not permitted.
Do you support CAMRA?
J D Wetherspoon is Britain’s biggest supporter of microbreweries and supports the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) by providing its members with discount vouchers worth up to £20 a year.
