Pub history
The Blackwater Stream
At the lower end of Broadstone’s main shopping street, these premises were built as a pub in 1979. In 2011, it was named by Wetherspoon after the stream which originally flowed across West Heath. In 1840, several large stones were laid across the Blackwater Stream to enable people to cross without getting wet. These broad stones are said to have given the area its name.
