A range of 30 real ales, including five from international brewers, will be available during a 12-day beer festival in March.

The festival will run from Wednesday 4 to Sunday 15 March, inclusive. The overseas brewers are from Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain and the USA, with 28 of the festival beers being new to Wetherspoon. It is also the first time that the festival will feature a real ale from Mexico.

Among the festival collection are vegan (also suitable for vegetarians) beers. Full allergen information about all of the beers featured can be found on this website, by searching for a pub here, on the app and on each pub’s customer information screen.

As well as featuring a range of malt and hop varieties from around the world, there are also beers which include coffee, elderflower, hibiscus and maple syrup in their ingredients.

The international beers are Tropical (Cervejaria Bodebrown, Brazil), Nigredo (Birrificio Italiano, Italy), Session IPA (Malteza, Mexico), Vicious IPA (Almogàver, Spain) and Read the Room (Good Word, USA).

The festival line-up also includes Salem Coastal Confusion (Batemans), Crimson Legend (Brains), Shug Monkey (Elgood’s), Brewed Awakening (Hook Norton), Lucky ’Lips (Shepherd Neame) and Pitch Perfect (Vale).

Marketing manager Jen Swindells said: “The festival is a great celebration of cask beer.

“Over a 12-day period, the pubs can showcase a selection of superb value-for-money beers, including those from brewers as far afield as Brazil and Mexico, as well as those closer to home.

“The festival gives customers the chance to enjoy beers which have not previously been available in the pubs, as well as those brewed especially for the festival – and there are plenty of new beers to try.”

Three third-of-a-pint tasters will also be available for the price of a pint.

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be on hand in the pubs, as part of the festival magazine.
