The Cribbar

Newquay is widely regarded as Britain’s surf capital. However, few have surfed the Cribbar Wave, breaking, as it does, only a few times a year. The legendary wave is named after the reef which stretches out under the sea from Town Head and gives this pub its name. These premises were originally a masonic hall, probably built in the 1880s, which later became an amusement arcade. They also include the adjoining ice cream parlour, erected in the 1960s.
