The William White
Larry Grayson was a highly popular comedian and television presenter who died in 1995. Born William White, on 31 August 1923, he was adopted 10 days later by a couple from Nuneaton, where the future star grew up. Grayson’s popularity peaked in the late 1970s as host of the Generation Game, with catchphrases such as ‘Oooh, shut that door’. Nuneaton Museum has a display of personal memorabilia and items from his showbiz career.
