The Diamond Tap

Until it was demolished in 1970, a late 18th-century three-storey building stood at 29 Cheap Street. This was the former Cheap Street Brewery, owned by the Flint family for most of its existence. Brewing ended in 1899; the premises then continued in use as the Diamond Tap public house for another 70 years.
