The Red Lion

This was a former Home Brewery pub which had been closed for several years when it was reopened by Wetherspoon in 1998. The present building dates from the turn of the 20th century. It replaced an earlier Red Lion on the same site, which gave its name to the now-demolished Red Lion Square, in front of the building.
