The Secklow Hundred

This pub is named after the ancient unit of government which covered much of what is now Milton Keynes. Secklow Mound, behind the city library, was the meeting place for the Hundred. The Witan (or Witenagemot) was a Saxon parliament. Its name derives from the Old English for ‘wise man’.
