The Imperial

This pub was built in the 1860s, then rebuilt and reopened in 1887 (as St George’s Hall), becoming the Imperial Theatre two years later. It became a cinema in c1910 and screened its last film in 1968. From the outside, the building still retains its cinema form, although the present façade seems to date from the inter-war years.
