The Windsor Castle

A few miles west of Heathrow, Windsor Castle is one of the principal official residences of Queen Elizabeth II. Windsor Castle can be seen easily from air as you fly into the airport. London Heathrow is Britain’s largest and busiest airport, covering what was once wild, uninhabited heathland. Originally an aerodrome for the Royal Flying Corps, it was developed as London’s main airport in the 1940s. The first flight took off on 1 January 1946.
