Autumn beer festival
A range of 30 real ales, including five from international brewers, will be available during a 12-day beer festival this autumn.
The festival will run from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 12 October, inclusive.
The overseas brewers are from Australia, India, France and two from the USA.
It is the first time the festival has featured a real ale from India and France.

Christmas at Wetherspoon

The Christmas menu is available from Wednesday 12 November until Wednesday 31 December (excluding Christmas Day).
Festive meals for 2025 include the ever-popular dish of sliced turkey breast and winter vegetables.

Jaipur at Wetherspoon
Wetherspoon pubs will be stocking Jaipur from 9 April.
Jaipur is a flagship beer from Thornbridge brewery in Derbyshire, first brewed in 2005 and was the beer that put Thornbridge brewery on the map. Tasting notes for Jaipur are below.

1664 Bière on draught – new world beer
All Wetherspoon pubs across the UK and Ireland will be introducing a new premium draught lager. The beautifully crafted French premium lager, 1664 Bière (4.6% ABV), is being added to the company’s draught beer range.

Pub history
The pub was formerly a Congregational church, with adjoining ‘modern glazed structure’. Since the 2002 sale of the church, it has been home to several bars. Designed by Francis Pouget, the Gothic-style Great Chapel was built in 1848, for which trustees had secured the plot or ‘the messuage formerly called The Man in the Moon’ (as described in 1818) for £500-5s. It was recorded by that name in 1739 and also in the will (14 October 1680) of John Hopkins Gent of Newport.
