Wetherspoon in Scotland

In Scotland, from the Borders to Wick, customers can start their day with our Scottish breakfast, with some traditional Scottish favourites, including tattie scone and links sausage.

Our Scottish breakfast comprises bacon, beans, egg, black pudding, Scottish sausage and potato bread (tattie scone). Our peppery links-style pork sausage is made to a traditional Scottish recipe, seasoned with black and white pepper. Arguably the national dish, award-winning Macsween haggis can be found on our Scottish classics menu all year round, not just for our Burns’ week celebrations, in several dish options.


Our haggis bites are small haggis balls, wrapped in breadcrumbs, while the traditional combination of haggis, neeps and tatties is as popular as ever, as is our Highland burger – a beef burger, topped with haggis and whisky sauce. You can add our whisky sauce – made with Glenfiddich whisky and cream – to any of our steak meal range… a very popular choice, with or without the haggis. Macsween haggis is also available as an option to add to any breakfast. An oaty, spicy mince and a great source of iron, fibre and carbohydrate, with no artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives, the Macsween recipe has been a firm favourite with the nation for more than 60 years.


A third-generation family firm, Macsween has continually supplied Wetherspoon for more than 15 years, with well in excess of three million meals served at our pubs in Scotland alone.

‘Mac and cheese’ may be a relatively recent food fad here in the UK, a ‘trendy’ dish imported from the US, but its origins are firmly rooted in Italy. However, it has been a Scottish traditional family favourite for more years than any of us care to remember.  Glaswegians may lay claim to its enduring popularity, particularly when encased in pastry! In fact, Glasgow’s oldest bar and restaurant, Sloans (in Argyll Street), even runs a monthly macaroni appreciation club.


Our Wetherspoon macaroni cheese dish is one of our bestsellers. Served with either chips or garlic bread, it is the ultimate in comfort food. At the bar, our bottled craft range includes Scotland’s Innis & Gunn IPA (5.6% ABV) and Thistly Cross Original Cider (6.2% ABV), as well as Miller Genuine Draft (4.7% ABV), as well as an ever-changing range of craft products from local breweries. On draught, we showcase Scottish ales and lagers, including Tennent’s (4.0% (ABV), Innis & Gunn Lager (4.6% ABV) and Deuchars IPA (3.8% ABV). Spirits include Caorunn Scottish gin, served with an apple slice, and Famous Grouse whisky. Scotland’s favourite Irn-Bru can be found in our soft drinks range.
