Local attractions

Centrally situated for river tours, Beccles is a picturesque market town on the edge of the beautiful Norfolk Broads.

The River Waveney winds its way through the town, providing short-stay moorings for visitors to the local district.

The historical gates and the looming church of St Michael the Archangel is a must-see.

Whether you enjoy a day at the stunning coastal town of Southwold or shop till you drop in the historic (yet vibrant) city of Norwich, Beccles has great transport links to get you there, or why not meander down the Angles Way footpath and take in the beauty which the Norfolk Broads have to offer?

Local transport

Buses run every 30 minutes to Norwich and Lowestoft.

There is a regular train service to Ipswich and Lowestoft, as well as a direct line into London.

Parking

Unfortunately, we have no on-site parking, but there is a pay-and-display car park near the hotel (NR34 9TQ for your sat nav), which is free during 6pm–8am.

There is also free on-street parking at the front of the pub on Sundays during 6pm–9am. For more details, contact the hotel.

Directions

From Norwich, take the A146/A143 – signposted Beccles. At the roundabout, take the first exit, A143, onto Loddon Road/Gillingham and follow it for one mile, taking the second right onto Ravensmere. Follow this to the junction of Market Street and turn right, follow this to the end of the road and turn left. The hotel is located on the left.
