Biggleswade is a quaint market town on the River Ivel, in Bedfordshire. Just over 30 minutes from central London (by train) and 20 miles from Cambridge, Biggleswade is the perfect base to explore both, while enjoying the local shopping which includes a twice-weekly market and the new A1 retail shopping park – which is close by.
The town is located five minutes off the A1 by road. Walking from the train station also takes a matter of minutes – head down Station Road, take at left at the roundabout on the High Street, and we are on the right-hand side. From the bus station in Market Square, we are directly opposite over the High Street.
There are numerous free-to-park car parks located around the town, the largest of which is Rose Lane car park, a five-minute walk from the hotel and open 24 hours. For more information, please contact the hotel directly.
Buses run every 30 minutes to Bedford and Hitchin. There is a regular train service to London and Peterborough. Local taxis are available.
The Shuttleworth Collection is located 10 minutes away. This aeronautical and automotive museum is one of the most prestigious in the world, because of its variety of old and well-preserved aircraft. For more details: www.shuttleworth.org. For something different, Jordans Mill is a food heritage attraction on the banks of the River Ivel. Guided tours are available to take you around the historic mill, as well as the ingenious milling machinery. For further info: www.jordansmill.com
