Pub Classics

There are so many options on our menu that it’s hard to decide what to pick. You can have them all, if you want to – maybe not at the same time

Wetherspoon’s customers vote with their forks – and we certainly know which dishes are your food favourites. Pub fayre is a long-established tradition – and those firm favourites of yester-year continue to please the nation’s palate today. Breaded scampi and fish and chips are both still highly popular options from our ‘pub classics’ selection. 

Our traditional freshly battered sustainable cod fillet (haddock is served in our Scottish pubs) is served with chips and a choice of peas or mushy peas. Bread and butter can be added, as well as the option of our chip shop-style curry sauce.

Fish

Available on our main menu every day, the dish is also a firm favourite on our Fish Friday meal-deal, along with a choice of drinks from our club range. A popular pub classic since the 1970s, breaded scampi continues to tick all the boxes for our customers. Our responsibly sourced beautiful British scampi is served with chips and peas. 

Tikka


It is no surprise that a curry is among our pub classic best-sellers and not just on Thursdays, for our Curry Club night. Chicken tikka masala is available on our main menu, served every day, and the dish continues to prove a very popular choice. Chicken breast pieces are marinated in tandoori spices, before being combined in a rich tomato sauce, with cream, red onion, butter, coriander and cardamom. It is served with pilau rice, naan bread, mango chutney and poppadums.

Beef

Launched in September last year, our British beef & Doom Bar ale pie has already become a great favourite in pubs across the UK.

The individual round shortcrust pastry pie is filled with prime British beef, in a thick gravy enriched with Doom Bar ale, from Sharp’s Brewery, in Rock, Cornwall. It is served with gravy, mash or chips, peas or mushy peas. 

Our all-day brunch is also a huge hit with those wanting a traditional meal of eggs and bacon, at any time of day or night, whether for elevenses, lunch, dinner or supper. Our combination of award-winning Lincolnshire sausages, bacon, fried British free-range eggs, Heinz baked beans and chips is available all day, every day, from opening time until 11pm. There is also a vegetarian option available. 

Why not round off your classic pub meal with a traditional dessert? Treat yourself to our British Bramley apple crumble, served with either ice cream or custard. It is the perfect end to your Wetherspoon pub classic experience.
