Our app

I’ve ordered to the wrong pub – can I get a refund?

Our app is designed to warn customers to check their location, if location services are enabled. The pub’s name appears at the top of the screen for the duration of the ordering process.

For this reason, we reserve the right to refuse refunds on misplaced orders. In some instances, if the error is spotted immediately and the other pub is contacted before the drinks and/or food are prepared, the manager at that pub may offer a refund. However, that is at the discretion of the manager on duty at the pub where the order was mistakenly sent.

Does it cost any more to use the app?

No, there is no additional charge.

Am I expected to give a tip, when I use the app?

No, there is no expectation at all. It is up to customers’ discretion, if they would like to give a tip, as it would be at the bar.

What happens if I order alcohol on the Wetherspoon app, but do not have proof of age?

By ordering alcohol using the Wetherspoon app, you are agreeing that both you and the intended consumer are aged 18 or over. Proof of age may be required when the product is delivered.

Customers who are unable to provide valid ID on request will not receive, and will not be refunded for, the alcohol ordered.

Which payment options are available on the app?

We accept the following payment methods: debit and credit cards; JCB; PayPal; Google Pay; Apple Pay.

The app is unable to accept payments using Wetherspoon gift cards, CAMRA vouchers or Wetherspoon discount vouchers.

Can I swap items on my meal?

There are limited swaps available via the Wetherspoon app. 
If you would like to make any swaps over and above what the app allows or you would like to advise us that you are avoiding specific allergens, do please place your order at the bar.

Currently, swaps are unavailable via the QR code app.

Are all of your various deals available on the app?

All of the deals on printed menus are available on the app and on the QR code app.

What can I order?

The Wetherspoon app may be used for ordering food or drinks – or both in the same transaction. You can also use it to book hotel rooms. The QR code app may be used for ordering food or drinks – or both in the same transaction. The QR code app cannot be used to book hotel rooms.

Why are there greyed-out items on the app?

This denotes any items which are currently unavailable at that pub.

How do I obtain a refund for an order placed on the app?

Please speak to a management team member who can deal with your issue. If necessary, he/she will process the refund on the till. If you believe that your refund has not been properly processed in the pub, please complete this contact form.

I have been charged more than once for the same transaction. How do I get a refund?

Occasionally, orders are not successfully processed, and a repeat order is placed by the customer. If the charge is processed for the failed order, this should be refunded automatically. Refunds can take up to 10 days to appear in your bank account. The timeframe can vary, depending on the customer’s bank.

How do I obtain a receipt for an order placed on the app?

For the Wetherspoon app, a receipt for each order will be sent to the e-mail address associated with the app when you set it up. If you have paid with PayPal, you will also receive a PayPal receipt. For the QR code app, a receipt for each order will be sent to the e-mail address entered by the customer at the point of payment.

My meal includes a drink: how do I add one?

When you select the dish, a pop-up menu will prompt you to choose a drink from our ‘Includes a drink’ meal-deal range. If this pop-up does not appear or you have already added your drink to the basket, you will still receive the deal price.

How do I search for an item?

There is a search bar at the top of each menu. If you click on this, you will be able to search the whole menu for your item, using your keyboard or microphone.

Is my data secure on the app? What data is captured and how is it used?

For the Wetherspoon app, we collect only the minimum information necessary to process food and drinks orders or to book a stay in one of our hotels. 

We capture and securely store the following data for each customer: first name; last name; e-mail address. This information is used to provide an electronic receipt.

For the QR code app, we capture the customer’s e-mail address only – entered by the customer at the point of payment.  This information is used to provide an electronic receipt.
